Like your post and barbed wire Dixie, well observed detail, great little potplant Marjorie, also lovely detail with the name tag, and a super Bernard castle view Linda.  I’ve just got home from a pen and wash workshop with Max Hale (Christmas present from daughter) , a good fun day and very interesting. I have a couple of WIP to get on with but this is a little view which is about finished. Watercolour first then pen.
Paul, I think it's a purple, without checking. Maybe cobalt violet. Will check later. Linda, that's a nice progression from the sketch. Tessa, lucky thing, your workshop. Do you feel it has changed your approach? It's a good loose pen and ink. How many were in the workshop?
12 of us Marjorie. We covered a few different options, of starting with pen or starting with watercolour, so quite interesting to see the difference. He did a couple of demos, always good to see the artist at work! Certainly came away with ideas and a bit more confidence to try various options of watercolour in particular.
Finished Castle looks good, Linda - really like the strong lines; glad you enjoyed your workshop Tessa - lovely, lively, sketch with great colours.
Been out, so not had much time today, so in good old Blue Peter tradition here's one I had prepared earlier, ( painted Thursday)I hope you don't mind. Great first post Dixie, Nice little pot plant, Marjorie. Great feeling of movement in your little country scene Tessa. Linda Very good Barnard castle, been there once For a day out, its an interesting place.
Nice one Alan, cute little face peeping out!
Charming sketch Alan - I suspect we might all use "one we've done earlier" at some time during the month! I was out most of the day too so here is my sketch - from a photo a friend gave me - it is a very cute dog if anybody isn't sure!
It certainly is very cute!
A fabulous start everyone! I won’t commit to this month but will drop in from time to time to see what you are all up to.
Certainly very cute, Alan. And a nice colour addition to Barnard Castle Linda. Margaret, no doubt that is a cute little dog. Must try and do quicker little sketches ( note to self).
Just a quicky today this some sort of pine cone I picked up Some amazing work going on again everyone I'm liking them all

Surely not page 2 already 😁 mine's a sketch of tete a tete, muscaria and primrose in a rather attractive looking container. Think I prefer the non coloured version.
