And I’m not joking! I’ve removed well in excess of 50 plus at a conservative estimate today so far…probably 30+ during the night - I’ve just shifted another twenty but I can’t keep up with the spammers! I’m literally drowning in them! Obviously it’s unrealistic to expect all the moderators to be on hand every time, every minute of the day, there are four of us to date. If anyone is interested in becoming a moderator, I’ll put it to Dawn on her return. She may not want any more, but I’ll ask the question. Let me know on this thread if you’re interested…

I’ve shifted quite a few Alan , mostly this morning but several throughout the day as well . This very recent batch came in quite suddenly, hope we have got them all well for now .

And removed again , unfortunately they have such excellent equipment and can multi post in seconds. I believe they also use AI to help gain access to sites such as this .

Scum was the right word Dixie.   It's been appalling lately. May I thank once again all our moderators for dealing with this garbage, your efforts are very much  appreciated.  The forum is a well of information, chit-chat and bonhomie, it's sad to see it infested with all that rubbish. While I'm on the subject, thanks are due for the wealth of information received when I mentioned I was going to have another stab at oil painting.   Robert and Alan are the bedrock of the forum, we're lucky to have them.  Thanks also to all the other people who shared their thoughts and tips.   Dixie's work on the art thread, aided ably by Jenny, is also very much appreciated.  You all make POL a worthwhile and pleasant place to be.

I agree with Lewis's comment regarding the scum/spam.  I've said it before but it bears repeating, many, many thanks to the moderators for clearing this rubbish.
With Sarah, Phil, Ellen, Rose the dentist, and the granddaughter whose name I forget.

They come at us intermittently - I removed a tranche of them on Friday (?) night, within minutes of them being posted, but missed those that appeared in the early hours of today because ... well, weekend; gin and tonic, bottle of wine; not entirely up to de-spamming operations.  Fortunately, those zealous moderators who shun the heady juices of grape and grain were on hand to repel them.

Paul's comment about AI seems apt.  It's sad when you read a post like 'Thomas Harrod's' above, you immediately think AI...well I do.  A regurgitation of what I've said, no profile, no art.  What a world we live in.

We are certainly having quite a spate of spam and other rubbish being thrown at us over the past few days again I cleared a load of them at 4am a couple of nights ago as I was on the forum as couldn’t sleep. One pinged up so I zapped it quite quickly only to find dozens that must have appeared at the same time!
