I have been asked by the family of Michael Trask, to pass on the sad news of his passing yesterday.
Michael has been a committed and regular member of POL for many years. Most of us will remember his skilful wet in wet watercolour washes with which he created the mood, atmosphere and dazzling light of his subjects.
I particularly enjoyed receiving Michael’s constructive observations on my own work together with his humorous remarks.
I felt that he took delight in engaging about what we painted, whether that be a place, or Artist……especially Edward Wesson.
One of my particular memories was a comment from him on a tree trunk that I sketched in pencil……Michael was adamant that he could see a Dolphin!
I spent a good hour looking for this Dolphin……I’m sure he was pulling my leg!
Personally, I will miss Michael’s paintings, kind words and banter very much.
God Bless Michael.
