Hello Carol - I am going to the show on the Thursday and I went to the one earlier in the year. It was around the time of my birthday so I dropped a lot of hints! The vast majority of stalls were textile based, which I also enjoy, but there were a few painting ones and other more unusual crafts like marquetry and mosaic. I managed to come away with a fair bit of course!! It was well organised too which was good. Plus, I managed to squeeze in the Pre-Raphaelites in Birmingham Art Gallery afterwards! Yes, get looking forward to it, it's a good day out.

Hi Sarah
'dropped a lot of hints' that made me smile. I'll have a try at that :) Always up to try something new, so it looks like a good day out.
I, too, hope I'll be coming back with a fair bit.
Doubt if I'll get into Birmingham, that day, but there are Christmas shoppers available being run by a local coach company, another day out to keep in mind.

I think you either mean the round discs that I use, or the full pans in the wooden box with palette.
Either way, they are manufactured by Wallace Seymour, formally Pip Seymour.
They aren’t cheap, and they aren’t as easy to use as standard watercolours.
But, if you can get to grips with them, the colours are pure ‘Turner’.
I needed them for a feature I did in TA, and I was given the box of paints by Pip, but I originally bought the discs at £50, they are more now!
I’m trying to think of the art shop that stocks them, but you should find that online. I’ll have a look and come back on that one…
Anything else I’ve missed, let me know!

Ah, lovely job, Alan.
Its the pans I'm interested in. I've just had a look at an unboxing and using these, and a tour of the shop, online. A treasure chest of lovely and interesting art materials.
I'll also be having a look for Jackson's art shop 1 Farleigh Place.
A busy day ahead :)
Many thanks Alan.

That looks like a very interesting shop, especially for Christmas gifts. If you are in the Covent Garden area, Carol, there's a very unprepossessing store called the London Graphic Centre - 2 floors of artists goodies when you venture inside.
I must make it out to Farleigh Place one day. Even though I'm West London it's still a trek for me. I'm now thinking of L. Cornelissen & Son which is near the British Museum, easier for me to get to. Has anyone visited there?
