Dear Everyone: I'm aware that my tone has caused some upset, for quite a while now - I haven't always given enough thought to the impact my choice of words might have on others: I get wrapped up in my own thoughts, and forget, sometimes, that this isn't a debating society, but a friendly site - or it should be - on which we can share enthusiasms, ask a few questions, provide a few answers.
So, while I shall continue to beaver away on the moderation front, I'm going to be moderating myself for, perhaps, a month of reflection - I'll still answer any technical questions which fall within my areas of expertise, such as they are, but will keep my opinions to myself for a bit: and I hope to emerge a rather more thoughtful and considerate old buzzard, re-emerging as Spring takes hold with its promise of hope and renewal!

It's a forum Robert, and as far as I know, as long as you steer clear of inciting violence or insurrection, we still have freedom of speech. So, we may not all agree with you all of the time, but that shouldn't stop you posting. We have freedom of choice too, so those who don't like what you write aren't obliged to read your posts.

So, I agree with everyone here: Dear Robert, I really appreciate your contributions. There's something to read, something to think about, and above all, not even an AI can interpret your choice of words "correctly." That's saying something, in a positive sense, of course! I really appreciate your detailed reports! Above all, they encourage people to participate in a conversation. In many forums (unfortunately, exclusively German ones, as I personally experienced it), there's a tight-knit atmosphere where only the closest people talk to each other, and if a newbie posts, writes, or shows pictures, the "newbie" is met with 100% ignorance! How grateful I would be for a little feedback. None of that. That's why I love this forum, with chatty people (emphasis on people) who are open, very loyal, and helpful, creating such a nice atmosphere here, in which you are significantly involved. Oh dear, I hope Google Translate doesn't make any mistakes...please excuse that then. But time for a break is, of course, always respected and understandable. 🤍
