No, is my answer i am relatively new to artwork so I cannot justify the extra expense. As a retired person on a pension, again i cannot justify the extra layout cost it does seem everything goes up except pensions
Just discovered your post - if I wanted to produce prints of my work, I'd do so in order to enhance my reputation; but a) I really can't be bothered with all of that ..... I'm nearly 70, for goodness' sake and b) Oh Gawd, the work!  Retiring, you know, is just a great thing to do - retreating from the competitive world.... And yet - if you're trying to establish your reputation, which I am not, being old and indifferent, get your prints out there: do whatever you need to do to let people know your name.  Go on, do it!   I am, of course, piddled on gin and tonic, but - if you're young, and hungry, and you want success: do whatever you need to do, and don't let anyone stop you.   And - don't give a damn' whatever anyone else thinks or says.  Which you won't anyway, if you're a real artist.
Being even older than the venerable Robert  I m also not interested in the Studio option, for a lot of the reasons already stated by others ( though I don’t think age is a reason either way 😊.)  Time to even pick up a pencil these days is a luxury  I even have back copies of The Artist  still in the cellophane they arrived in .   I’ve been a member for over ten years now and I so enjoy the Gallery, the Forum and the competitions. Plus the opportunity to talk to you lot. These are the reasons I joined and am still here .  I’m sure the Studio option will be used and enjoyed by others less stick in the mud than me.
Sylvia you’ve put it perfectly, your reasons are exactly why I want to be a part of pol....it’s unique. I haven’t even thought about using the offered studio options. Well said!
I agree with Fiona’s comments!

I chose not to take up the Studio option, as  I found that it had little to offer me. I use pol in the same way as Sylvia and for the same reasons. Apart from the gallery my main use is the forum where I find interesting items posted by in the main interesting people, add the light hearted banter and it’s worth logging in to. Total respect for POL who have not approached me to take up the option nor has there being any sales tactics, it’s this kind of approach that make me value the site.
I really can't be bothered despite being offered free use for a while.  I'm with Sylvia on this - I need the time to actually paint and draw, whilst I enjoy the banter on the forum.
I agree with others thoughts on this. I wasn’t sure if I could continue without taking up one of the options, quite relieved I can still log on, as I do love to post and comment on others work.
The main part of Studio that appealed to me was the Archive, allowing access to previous years of the Artist and LP. However I’ve been subscribing to the Artist for many years and never throw one away, so they are to hand if ever I want a browse. Also what I’ve seen of LP doesn’t appeal that much. I did get as far as thinking maybe I’d try Studio for a year and asked how much to update, but was told I should pay the full whack and would have the difference refunded. I think that should be the other way round, so haven’t done anything more about it.
It doesn't appeal to me.  I guess it's main attraction will be for those who want to sell their work on POL.  The archive is a good idea, but similar info is freely available elsewhere and often easier to locate.  I subscribed to the ARTIST for a while, the subject matter doesn't appeal to me greatly, since I rarely do landscapes, still life, pet portraits, etc, as the main subject of my pictures.  This doesn't matter too much, you can still pick up usual tips from artists who do paint them.  Occasionally I'll buy a copy if there's something of interest.  POL's attraction for me is the interaction on the gallery and forum.   And although I may not paint landscapes, pets, etc...I can often enjoy the work of those who do.  I prefer the more offbeat work, and we have some of that as well. I wish POL well with its STUDIO project, I'm sure it will appeal to many.
I agree with you Lewis. However I have subscribed to it, no not because I want to use it but because I wanted the five years back issues of the magazines. I really enjoy them for a number of reasons.
My free trial is coming to an end and as I'm not going to subscribe to Studio I'm wondering whether the wall I've created just vanishes, or will it remain with what I've hung on it but of course I won't be able to add to it. If the latter I'll get busy and get some more paintings up. Thanks.
