Some of these posters are using US phone numbers. As its via the Internet, it can be reported to the IC3 section of the FBI
https://complaint.ic3.gov/
I'll be looking into this further when I get back.
But POL must screen new users. Best way is via email accounts that they use to set up, failing that, they must have an initial posting approved by moderators. It'll actually be less work for us.

The ease with which they can foul up our forum and gallery is bewildering. Some of the gallery postings are 'for sale.' I thought you had to subscribe to get this facility, a point already made by Andrew, I think. Surely they aren't doing that? Norrette is right, the future doesn't look good for websites such as this unless someone gets a grip on things.
I'm sure, as Alan says, our moderators will have already made these points. They really do need to be able to remove blatant advertising/scam posts from the gallery.
Once again, huge thanks to the moderators...they shouldn't have to waste time clearing out this foul rubbish.

I’ve done all I can, believe me I’ve tried… repeatedly!
It isn’t Dawn, she understands but Warners aren’t concerned, or so it would seem!
In the main, we’re coping adequately with spam on the forum, but it’s this infiltration into the gallery where there is serious cause for concern.
Yes Lew, you’re right… I have to pay an annual fee to join Studio Plus, which apart from other benefits, enables me to add the ‘for sale’ sign to my work.

They clearly have software that enables them to access all the facilities and benefits.
A lot of this is of course is sponsored by several countries whose governments gains from the disruption it causes. I’ve said it before if the Pentagon, NHS and other big organisations can’t be hacked POL is child’s play in comparison.
In having to use my phone to access the forum as for some reason I cannot log in on my iPad, this happened before following a mass scam attack. If I recall the techs had quite a job getting it back to normal.

Chrome issue resolved - it had something to do with Adblock, which should be paused on this site; don't know how it became un-paused.
A technically minded friend has phoned me - he advises do NOT respond in comments to spam posts on the Forum or Gallery: just report these posts on the forum to the moderators. The Gallery posts, which we can't control, will be removed by the full-time staff in due course. You can report these by emailing the web manager, using the contact icon/button at the top of the screen.

Adblock has been used many times in the past.
There is a reset button on everyone’s WiFi, press it for resetting. Cleanses without losing password
Internet, as good and bad as is, comes at additional costs, data! People can learn about you without much trouble. Keep up to date. Reset to factory and start again. Save before so. Treat everything on blue tooth and internet as compromised. Yes, that includes emails. Please don’t wash your dirty linen in public( old saying. iPhones, there is a lockdown feature. Keep this on. Manually update everything, especially apps… check at least twice a day. Keep private matters for face to face, without your phones nearby. As you know, don’t download links, even from people you know. This is becoming the norm. With minimal fuss to your day. You can be much safer. Learn it all. Dosnt take much tto get used to it. Make hackers move somewhere else. Be vigilant!
Do not respond to anyone you feel isn’t quite right!!!!

Most hackers work is done by smoke and mirrors. They will go to great lengths to prove that something doesn’t work, so you play nicely in their hands. Human error from complacency is a major factor. To cover their tracks, hackers hack into many sites as a safety net to the one they are really looking at.
Forgot to say, turn your phones off every night. Charging will bring them on again, in Apples case. Wait and turn off after plugging in to charge, or just charge while on. Keep data turned off unless using your phone for something . Some people have too much time on their hands. Just don’t make it easy for them. Facebook, a while back, all art sites were targeted, culprits only make it hard for the complacent.
