Good afternoon, and Happy Boxing Day. I've removed some dozen posts from one drmama nketi today - the procedure for removing them completely is a little bit difficult, even if one hadn't had gin and tonic, wine, port, and brandy with my Christmas dinner.  Could members help a bit, in ways which won't be obvious to you unless I explain them? It is MUCH easier to track these things and cut them out if you simply click 'report', and don't add a comment (tempting though that is).  Otherwise I, and doubtless the POL team, can find the post and remove it, but the Topic remains untouched - so we have to go in to edit the topic, in to identify it, and then remove that and mark the moderation queue as an item resolved.  It's also easy to assume we've removed a post when we haven't - I wish I could explain this better! If you don't understand that, and I can quite understand why you wouldn't - you don't see the removal process and I haven't explained it well - could you take the above action: report, but don't add a comment.  It really would help to ensure we catch all of them and chuck 'em out. I do remove the poster as well as the comment/topic, but these characters have multiple identities: I agree with the point made about identifying the IP and having a stricter joining process, but I can't speak for POL on that: they wish to be welcoming and provide as few barriers as possible, and it would take a few adjustments of the log-in process to achieve this extra layer of security - I'd be in favour of that, but not for me to speak for the company.   Right, hoping that no one was actually LOOKING for one of Mama's spells to improve their sex lives or whatever they purport to do, let us slip back into holiday mode, and hope Mama will shovel her spells right up where the monkey put the nuts.
Happy Boxing day Robert, I never respond to such as I feel it could be a source of ignition for more. In the troll's view, they are happy in the sense that they have caused discussion and disruption, so no heed should ever be paid, no matter how hard that is and I appreciate, it is very difficult because I have wanted to comment myself and I wear my feeling on my sleeve. Your instructions are clear and I will just report such if I see them so the team can pinpoint then quickly. Alan did inspire me to write a quick lyric on the subject, all in fun, hope you don't mind Alan, you are an untapped poet. Here it is. Mama's spell's, splattered and scattered, not that it mattered much. The junk's been junked, that's no scoop, you're being duped, no dispute, do you compute, it's dissolute. The bilge is draining, Mama's not gaining we are abstaining and retaining our money, honey. Don't mean to be cruel Mama but hit the road with the spool and by the way, happy yule, look in the mirror, where hence find the fool. One finds magic from inside not outside, one is one's guide and needs no other guide. One finds wonder in feeling their own pain and joy and learning from the experience, that's magic Mama. No hokey pokey, only self and compassion for others, that's the true magic. That cost not a penny, just an open eye.

Excuse me while I titter uncontrollably! It DOES help if you can laugh at these people (and probably annoys them - although most of them are just bots) - they infest so many vulnerable websites though that I really doubt that they ever see a fraction of the replies to them, and they really don't care.   They're a pest, like mosquitos or mice, and as sensitive to our opinion of them as those pests are. If you take a peek at YouTube and visit one or two of the scamhackers' websites - not that these are necessarily the same people - you can entertain yourself: there IS a fightback against internet crooks - governments are as slow as death to do so, so individuals like Perogie (look him up) do the job the FBI and Interpol should be doing.   He engages these crooks, and while they're engaging him in ever more complex means of lightening his bank account, he systematically deletes their files and destroys their operation - it's work of art, well worth a look. In the meantime, we do our poor best on POL!
He does sound interesting to read about Robert, I'll have a look.
report, but don't add a comment. Robert Jones, NAPA on 26/12/2021 14:08:55
Tuesday AM. I have just reported half a dozen more posts.  Like at least one other member, I added a comment "Reported" to advise others that action is in hand and thus save them the need to file another report (and prevent your being inundated by reports!).
The inundation doesn't bother me, the snag is trying to navigate a quite complicated system in order to correctly identify, find, and remove post or topic; remove the report; note that the issue has been resolved.  The reports are quite useful - by the way, the moderation queue (where reports go having been reported) doesn't always update automatically: so it looks as though there are still outstanding posts from Mama this or Doctor that, when they've been removed already. I did say it was hard to explain......................   Thanks for your help with this. RJ

Just as well Robert, as I've just flagged several (lost count) old 'spams' posted by the usual protagonist.   You weren't going out were you?
Well done gents for dealing with this irritating junk.
The loonies have struck again. More magic mumbo jumbo.
All gone - for now.  Priest Grace has been unfrocked.   None of us wanted to get pregnant, or have our lost lovers restored, I hope?  I think mine would be a bit long in the tooth by now, and I'd look so silly in a maternity frock....  One tries to make light of all this - tra-la...- but they are a pain in the last place you'd want one.  Pity we can't trace them, and wreak hideous vengeance.

I must admit I thought it all a bit miraculous.  Thanks .
We do try - Dawn is ever-vigilant, I look in when i can - just keep reporting, we'll keep removing.  Though I must admit - stricter admission procedures might help.   Beyond my pay-grade, though: actually, I don't get paid: not even one of Dawn's cakes = slurp.  But no, I don't want pay (which is just as well!) I do it because it helps to keep the forum open for all of us: completely selfish, really, because I come here for relaxation from a painfully bureaucratic job I really don't want to do: it's just my overwhelming misfortune that I'm quite good at it.   Of course, I'm always open to - taking notes? Good! - bottles of Scotch; creamy-weamy cakey-wakies; boxes of cigars (now please don't stint: no really, it's not worth it, honestly it isn't!) and/or well - anything you think grossly excessive!  Don't hold back!
