rogerk - 2013-05-28 5:56 PM Time that POL reverted back to stating specifically, that multiple postings are not welcome..'not too many postings at one time' is nebulous, meaningless and open to what I am sure, is largely unintentional abuse. Sixteen submissions from one and eight from another is quite ridiculous. I don't blame them, but I do blame POL for allowing the situation to exist. I would go as far as puting the cap at two and would urge POL to withdraw a very large digit get it sorted quickly.
Quite right.  I was told off by other members because I repaid these rude people with the rudeness they deserved.  They manage to read and comprehend the instructions to get their stuff up here.  However, they seem to have problems understanding the reccommendations as to quantity.  Also, they seem to have no idea how to behave in a social manner.bestMick
What gets me is that one of the MPs is a regular poster so no excuses.....!
The web-site revamp which I believe is coming should sort it out.  I have sympathy with the webmaster because I still cringe in front of my own website (which I didn't design, and whose principles remain strange to me).  But it does cause a hell of a lot of annoyance.... I must investigate the Gallery and see who it was....
Until there are any changes we are stuck with the current system. having said that one of the current MPs has accepted the comments left on his site apologised and deleted most of the postings. If only all MPs acted this way !
I will believe the update will show an improvement when I see it Robert.  Sorry Sylvia, I wasn't over the top, people who are anti-social don't give a damn about other people, only themselves, If they cared about others, they would take the trouble to make sure they follow what is accepted behaviour.  Last time I looked there were two recommendations, one saying avoid too many postings, and the next on the upload page with words along the lines suggesting that a maximum of four per day is reasonable.  It isn't too hard to read these recommendations and follow them.  To miss them is careless and shows a couldn't care less attitude towards other users.  Do you or any of the others know of the recommendations and follow them, do I?  Why should we put up with people who can't be bothered to comply with what is expected, there is no excuse, it is easy to see for those who are interested to behave sociably, those who can't be bothered deserve any rudeness thrown at them.  When we join little clubs and societies, they all come with their own  rules and recommendations - this is how we do it here, if you don't like it, don't join.  I am of the belief that a maximum of two a day is enough; however, I do believe that new members, to get their portfolios up and running, should have a fortnight to make their first upload of, say, about eight pics on first upload, once the eight, or how many is believed acceptable, are loaded, they are then on the limit. bestMick
Love and kisses to you too.bestMick
I see we have another multi-poster, who obviously didn't bother to read, or can't understand the recommendations, nine postings I think this afternoon.bestMick

I don't often post, as a "leisure artist", but I feel I can comment on this one. This first post is spot on. I also don't blame a lot of the multiple posters - the advice on the website is pathetic. The first you get is: "We recommend not making too many postings at any one time" What on earth does this mean? Clearly, that multiple postings are fine, as long as you don't do "too many"?? By this time, of course, you haven't gone through the process of posting anything - but you've maybe prepared quite a few images. Next, almost buried in the "small print" you get: " We reccommend (sic) a maximum of four a day as muliple postings cause less viewings for all artists. This is total rubbish - and to change it does not require a re-design of the website. The simple solution is to say - up-front and unmissable - that there is a strict limit of 4 images a day that should be posted (it'd be 2 for my preference). The "small print" could then explain why (but most wouldn't read this, for the same reason that they never get as far as "we recommend a max of 4....)" No need for a new website. Every need for new wording - stop pussyfooting & burying important info. SPELL IT OUT. I doubt if many would continue multiple posting if the site was unmissably explicit. No need for any computer website tally to automatically count & block postings . If there were still anti-social posters then they posters would deserve some of the hostile responses that have recently been forthcoming. Certainly, my view is that the website has more faults than the posters, and that it is easily sorted. To change the wording within blocks of text on a website is not just easy. It is trivial.
With one person, working part time, managing the whole site it would be impossible to actually maintain the gallery ensuring that each artist sticks to any limit on postings. It is a recommendation because there is no way of one person actually ensuring that a strict limit is adhered to. If it was a rule then all users would (quite rightly) expect it be strictly policed - this is not possible. This is a free site and we have the facility for anyone to look at all of the images added in the past 7 days up to the last 3 months. It is a community site offering all artists the chance to share their work with others. The vast majority of artists are friendly and do stick to the advice about adding to the site, currently this can only be advice however.
Commercial sites are able to reduce the number of postings = eg Affordable British Art; it wasn't possible to make more than, say, 5 additions to your gallery depending on the level of subscription you had.  But how that's done is totally beyond me - unless that's the way the website's been created, you presumably can't just change things without a major re-design.  Must say, I get more annoyed by mps sometimes than on others - a) because they're the ultimate losers, and b) because 10 different people posting just one image in succession would have just the same effect.  <div> </div><div>I could do without our friends from diablogold who keep coming back to entertain us on the forum, though; we have another one just now ... the point of their activity, unless all they're trying to prove is that they can do it, eludes me completely.  </div>
Well, just for a little info. Tonight I tried to place a post on here but after attaching the image, entered the text etc I clicked on 'next' and ended up on an error page! I tried posting my artwork five times but still the same message. I decided to take a look at the gallery and to my horror I have posted the same artwork five times! 8-) I have now deleted the other four but there is obviously a problem with the posting in the gallery. All I'm saying is that with this happening to me who has obviously posted quite a few paintings in the gallery, it may also be the case with other members on here. I'm not saying everyone but just like me they may be making more than one attempt (unknowing) to post their artwork and not being redirected to the web site. Please be a little lenient on folk here just in case this is what's happening, but I know this may not always be the case. I also wonder if it could be a browser issue, I currently use Google Chrome with Windows 7 so has anyone else had a similar issue and if so what browser are you using? All in all I have more than happy with this site/content/design and everyone's helpful and encouraging comments, but I realise improvements are needed in certain areas, Hope all is well out there! Paul :-D P.S. Below is a screen shot of the page issue.

Are you or do you know of any undiscovered artists in the UK who are looking for credible exposure? We are asking for a variety of painters and sculptors to feature in a commercial photo-shoot for Karndean Designflooring taking place on 15th November in Manchester. The successful candidates will need to supply three pieces of artwork for the shoot. In return, we will send artists a selection of the final images and rights to use the images themselves afterwards. We will also be profiling each candidate and their work on our blog, Karndeanblog.com alongside the final images. This is an exciting opportunity for any artist, established or otherwise. To nominate an artist, submit work or for more information, please email: [email protected] http://www.karndean.com/en-gb/commercial-flooring/news-and-events/news-listing/karndean-designflooring-seeks-painters-and-sculptors 1) Submit your entry. For artwork to be considered, submissions must be emailed to [email protected] before 10pm on Thursday 6th November. Only those submissions which come directly from the artist will be considered. 2) Selected Artists. If successful, artists will be notified by Friday 7th November and asked to arrange delivery of artwork to location ahead of the shoot - please ensure this is achievable before submitting your proposal. We will guarantee the return of all artwork by the 31st November. 3) Specifications. Artists will need to supply three pieces of work. Exact specifications will be sent to successful candidates. Please note: we cannot accommodate logos anywhere in the artworks. 4) Copyright. Artists will retain copyright of their artwork, however, successful artists will be automatically agreeing to allow Karndean Designflooring to use their artwork for promotional and marketing purposes.
