It's a fine box set Alan and I notice on their site they do a very large range of Japanese watercolours. Very expensive but you get what you pay for and I might have to go mad and treat myself to a couple of things for Christmas. I like many of Turner's watercolours, especially some of the pastel shades he used in some of them. I might try something using a similar palette.
It’s a lot of money to spend on the box set, if you find you can’t get on with them! I think it’s about £170 or so…I’m not sure if they sell the pans separately! I would assume so, otherwise how would you top up the used ones… The cheaper option is to buy the discs as shown in this second image.  The first image is my version of one of Turner’s sketchbook studies ‘Sunset, Venice’, I’ve used a combination of both the discs and the pans here, basically trying to get to grips with his palette - I then moved on to my own ideas and compositions.

Just heard that Wallace Seymour are selling a new Turner Marine Vintage Watercolour set - available now at Turner Contemporary Margate. Sounds good!
Needless to say, I’ll definitely be taking a look at that, thanks Dawn… I’ll see if I can find it and report back!
I’ve drawn a blank on this one!  I’ve found that website but nothing comes up re the Turner paints, or Wallace Seymour! I’m sure that someone of greater intelligence will be able to find it… my other option is to contact Pip Seymour directly and see what he has to say! Have you got a link Dawn?

Can't see it either! I will ask Pip and see what I can find out....
Seems the product isn't yet on the Turner Contemporary website but if you email this address, [email protected], you'll be able to find out more!
Have done that, thanks Dawn.
When entering the competition can any medium be used, or is it watercolour or oils only?
Dawn can correct me if I’m wrong here Carol, but I would think it’s any medium…  The heading is ‘Paint like Turner’, so if I were entering (which I’m not), I’d be working in either oils, watercolour, or pen and wash… but I would also include gouache, ink and acrylic in the mix, but adopting his palette and style! But I’m sure Dawn will clarify this for you in the morning, and good luck with your submission, or that could be submissions I suppose!
I don't enter comps or sell my work, but this "Paint like Turner grabbed my attention. Hope you'll forgive this from a while back as I was quite happy with my original acrylic painting.

Hi Carol. You can use any medium at all for this one - no limitations other than being in the style of Turner!
