Just thought I'd mention that I entered the online Artist's Lounge competition a good few months back. Last month they emailed to say congratulations you are one of our semifinalist. Well I didn't go any further but still I was stunned as my painting is in the online exhibition. I could not believe it really. I entered Floppy Poppy. Why I mention it now is because I would like to thank all those who give me great advice and help when I ask especially Alan, Robert, Marjorie and Paul, who also give great tips and help me move on with my art. Who would have thought it. Not me.

Well I’m not at all surprised Denise! It was only a matter of time before success came your way and I’m delighted that you were at least shortlisted. This will be a huge confidence booster I’m sure. Your progress since joining pol is nothing short of phenomenal in my opinion!

Denise, that’s brilliant! I’m glad you told us. Entering things is a spur, of course you might not win but you gain confidence in yourself. I love the fact that art is so important to you - I often plan things in my mind as I drop off to sleep. In fact I would say that I think about art every day and always look at things from a possible “ angle” to paint.

Marjorie, I am so glad you have told me this, I also think of nothing else. It's on my mind as I'm going to sleep and there as soon as I wake up. Even if I never get selected for anything again, I just love it so much.
With Sarah, Phil, Ellen, Rose the dentist, and the granddaughter whose name I forget.

I come a little late to this because I fear I rather over-indulged on the gins and tonic last night and am not that long out of bed ...... let this be a lesson to one and all.   However, through my hangover, I still want to add to the congratulations - I'm not surprised either: if there were an award for fastest learner in class, you'd romp off with it.
