Well I thought I’d post an update on this. I didn’t sell a thing. But I did receive a lot of nice comments from those that saw my little show.  My biggest workload was mounting and framing numerous watercolours and producing labels for same. Hanging them was relatively easy but I’m eternally grateful for the help of my friends in the Emberton Arties art group who also stopped me stacking them on the walls  like cans of beans in Tesco.  The pub covered the public liability as they frequently show group exhibitions from our group and others. I didn’t bother insuring my works, but may do in the future.  It was a great learning experience and I don’t regret it even though I didn’t sell a thing.  All the best.

Well done you Andrew I have also done solo exhibitions in the dim and distant.  Our local libraries were brilliant and  I used the foyer of three different ones.   I always found the  private View a great selling opportunity.    Naughty boys enjoyed drawing explicit bits in my comments book,
Well done Andrew on holding your exhibition, not selling is a shame but hopefully it will open the opportunity at another time.
Naughty boys enjoyed drawing explicit bits in my comments book,  Sylvia Evans on 16/10/2024 12:01:06 Boys will be boys - that made me smile Sylvia. Thanks too Paul. I'm also exhibiting at an open exhibition in Olney in November so I might sell something there, fingers crossed.

Boys did….. What fun just contemplating the washing up after watching the rail ALL day a ping, a message…a painting sold , I exhibit in the waiting area of a local hospital it’s a good selling venue.   Takes the patients mind of their problems. First of my Yupo pics to go that’s the paper.
Like that Yupo painting Sylvia…never tried the stuff, and don’t intend to… you handle it well! Andrew, great that you’re looking at it from a positive perspective. You’ve probably learned a lot from the experience and I know firsthand how much work goes into these exhibitions. I can’t understand why you didn’t get any sales though, perhaps it was down to your pricing structure, even being too cheap can be a factor! Learn from it and go forward with optimism, it isn’t a great time for selling paintings in general, again I speak from my own personal experience!

Yupo is fun to use Alan it sort of has a mind of its own.   Andrew your exhibition wasn’t on for very long if I understand it.   I’ve had exhibitions where I haven’t sold and Hey H their loss.   Pricing is hard,
