I see on the gallery that a couple of our regulars have embarked on the Royal Academy Life Drawing Live classes. It's an online course under the guidance of the very talented Jonathan Yeo. All free so what's stopping any of us, we all know the importance of drawing, particularly the human figure. They are 90 minute long sessions, short and long poses. Sounds really interesting and I will be taking a closer look at it later today, hopefully enrolling. I'm looking for a challenge and this could be the one! www.royalacademy.org.uk/article/online-life-drawing-class-lifedrawinglive
Sounds interesting Alan. Might have a look as it will be easier than getting to my live life classes in the evenings.
Had a go using the time scales in the programme. Life drawing not really my main interest and I didn't try to make a meal of it. I can see the benefits without doubt. If you put me insome of those model positions you'd have to break bits off to get me out. Ouch....
I must admit, I fail to see the point. Surely life- drawing is about translating 3D form into a 2Dge, but to translate one 2D e from the TV into another 2D image is surely graphics.
Thanks for highlighting this Alan. I'm pleased to say the video is still up - haven't done any life drawing since before Easter so enjoyed this. Only watched part of the programme so far but intend to have a go at the rest soon.
