A change this weekend as I’m featuring a farther and son both Australian Artists.
JJ Hilder and Brett Hilder .
Jessie Jewhurst Hilder 1881 - 1916. Was a Australian watercolour who produced most of his artwork in the later years of his life . He had suffered for many years from tuberculosis and final had to give up his work in banking and turned to painting like a lot of artists he had a struggle to become well know and sadly he passed away before he was recognised as a excellent watercolourist .
I will feature his artwork tonight and tomorrow evening I will feature the work of his very talented son Brett. JJ s eldest son Bim Hilder became a well known sculptor.
I hope you enjoy my selection of his amazing artwork such talent, it looks so easy but as we know that not the case its the tremendous skill he had.

Brett Hilder 1911- 1981 Australian artist and Master Mariner , son of JJ Hilder . Brett Hilder served in the RAAT in the Second World War and taught navigation to Australian aircrew later rising to the rank of Wing Commander serving in Catalina Flying Boats . Brett was also a very accomplished photographer, I have found it difficult find some of his paint and would have liked to present more choice.
