Right, lunch-time on Wednesday, the man said - well, I have a late lunch.... So, then: Raoul Dufy, 1877 - 1953, and brother Jean Dufy, 1888 - 1964, were French artists, influenced, as probably every French artist was, by Monet, Pissarro, Matisse to a lesser extent, and Dérain.  They were both drawn to the Fauve movement - Raoul had a talent for big public murals, in one of which he was assisted by Jean - but failed to give him any credit.  Brothers, eh?   I confess that neither brother qualifies among my favourite artists, but you'll be making your own minds up.  Raoul suffered in later life from rheumatoid arthritis in his hands, meaning his brushes were strapped to them as he couldn't easily move his fingers - not the only artist to have suffered that problem.  He was treated by various anti-inflammatory preparations, which apparently both worked - and killed him: in that they caused internal bleeding eventually; something else that those of us with arthritis still have to guard against.  Some things, just like brothers, don't change as much as we'd like. Raoul's work: And Jean's: You'll find many more examples of their work online, and may have better luck than I'm having in posting larger images.  Edit

Posted even later than intended, because I put it on the end of a thread someone had dug up - not a new one.   If the resuscitated thread is AI, as Paul believes, it needs to be removed; if it's just a late comment, although it does quote already posted work, that's a different matter.  Most of those who do that also quote a chunk of text; I'll check to see if this is the case here, and if it is: justice will be swift and merciless.  If you don't understand any of this - don't worry: I had to have a think about it myself.
Robert has informed me that he has accidentally banned himself, whilst removing this AI thread. So obviously he can’t reply to anyone or contribute until it’s sorted. That will hopefully be tomorrow, I’m on the case and I’m sure I can sort it out, Dawn is away now until 2 Sept…
I know Robert is spitting feathers and is very cross with himself and I can say that the AI posting is getting more than the evil eye from him . Should resume normal service tomorrow with Alan’s help.
I'm just quietly apologising to Robert as I couldn't help laughing about the banning.  So sorry Robert, hope you can be retrieved along with your history!

The problem is that everything shuts down from Wednesday 5pm until Monday morning, so there is nobody from the painters online team, or The Artist magazine to contact, as in the editor who could have sorted it out. But, I’ve just emailed a contact of mine at the Warners Group! For those of you who don’t know, they actually own both magazines as well as the online enterprise. Hopefully they will get something sorted out asap…
As Robert is still unable to post on the forum I have taken the liberty of adding some more artwork from Raoul Dufy. The first is a pattern he designed for surfaces something he did as a sideline apparently. The others I have posted are a variety of his paintings. Hope Robert approves of my choices on is behalf.
I am back - with thanks to Alan Bickley and to Leslie at Warners.  Now don't all cheer at once: contain yourselves!

Robert should be up and running again! My contact at Warners has been able to sort it out. I’m sure we’ll hear from him very shortly! We crossed Robert, glad you’re sorted. Keep that contact safe, you never know when she will be needed! Incidentally, it’s Lucie Dawson

Now don't you go thinking I'm embarrassed nor yet blushing so furiously I could warm a room.....  Ahem: with thanks to Alan and Warners, again, back to Dufy, he said, artfully changing the subject.  As I said before I fell off the stage, the Dufy brothers are not among my favourite artists, but - what do YOU think?
Bumping this one up again, because the thread got a bit derailed.
Here's one of my favourites:
