I thought we were staying away from live artists because of the copyright issues.
Linda, Alan has replied to this on the earlier thread, confirming that Dawn has already said there should be no issue with copyright in the way we are using the images.
Your selection is excellent Sylvia. The painting of the lady waiting for the bus is a knockout and for anyone considering perspective is spot on. One of my favourites of his is the one painted on top of a London bus looking towards the front windows. Not sure if I can find that I met Adebanji a few years ago at the British Plein Air painters day out in St. James’s Park in times when we could do such things! Most of the artists had left at the end of the day, and he was taking photos of the lake and fountain for future reference. He was very approachable and we had a brief chat about the day. Incidentally if anyone gets a chance to join in one of their days it’s a great experience and everyone is sociable and helpful. We did another one on the Thames embankment, literally down on the side of the river. I had left my easel and all my gear to pop and buy a sandwich. When I got back the tide had threatened to swamp my stuff and someone had kindly moved it all up to safety. Otherwise it would have been heading for France! If anyone is nervous about Plein air painting it’s actually easier to do it as part of a large group like that.
He is a lovely guy Tessa, I had booked to go to Morocco on a painting trip then Covid  hit plus other stuff.    I have his book the addictive sketcher the energy of his work is astounding.
Hi Sylvia I remember you being exited about booking what should have been a great trip. Maybe it’ll still happen in the future. I also have his Addictive Sketcher book which I agree is wonderful.
That would be good…

I saw a Channel 4 programme a while ago of Adebanji Alade recreating the Mona Lisa - fascinating to watch as he tried to create a copy of this iconic painting using traditional methods, and ‘unlocking some of its secrets’.

I think most of us on here have bought his book! Always a great reference when you need inspiration! Yes Jenny, an excellent programme which gave a brief but interesting insight into how Adebanji researched this famous painting prior to attempting his version!
I watch the program and I thought it must be wonderful to source your oils from scratch. It was a very interesting program.
I find Adebanji's work and personality quite inspirational.
I watched a programme about the Mona Lisa by Alan Yentob last night, and that showed how the various layers were applied too.  I would have liked to have seen Adebanji’s version too.   Thank you for asking his permission, Sylvia.  It is only courteous to do so.  It is good to let artists know that their work is appreciated.  Adebanjadi is certainly inspirational.
