I like Mr Thompson's work - for the fluidity of line. Some of the work up above, of the Wind in the Willows characters and the subsequent paintings, don't seem to me to be by the same artist, and I'm none too keen on many of them: the two bears painting is stiff, the horse picture ... I'm no authority on horses, but those hooves do seem to be too small to support the animal. The last three, posted by Tessa, above the Thompsons, are much better to my eye, and very different in style and execution.
We might have as many as three different artists here! I don't know that, but Tony has intensified my suspicions....

NI must admit I was a little surprised at the apparent difference in style and substance for the work I posted but I did check back and it is from the same site as Dixie’s intro and posts, from the website of his wife Susan Barrett who showed a selection of his work.
So- apologies to Sylvia for interrupting her new thread! It looks very interesting and I will post a choice to get back on track.
