I have changed my choice of artist this week as I having some issues around the work of San Win , I will feature him at a later date.  John Doyle 1928 ,was a painter born in Sydenham Hall and grew up near Chevington , while touring Kent in his grandfathers open top Buick he developed his love of the Landscape . After starting an iron foundry he put in a  manager , enabling him to attend evening classes under Gerry de Rose and Paul Wyeth at Maidstone School of Art. Doyle believed that art could not be taught formally and one could learn most” just from being with other painters and observing”. I hope you enjoy my choices of his work , and the sudden change of artist doesn’t cause disappointment.
Bringing this back to the top , it was pushed down the page . It’s a bit disappointing when there I no response to posting an artists work .
First time I’ve seen it Paul, but I have been busy. Nice work indeed, I particularly like that interior church scene… Much skill on show here, and a great eye for detail!
I'm very impressed with the architectural works, especially the interior with the wet (?) floor.  Tremendous draftsmanship.  Less taken with the mainly landscape paintings in numbers 4 and 6 of Paul's selections, for me they don't have the appeal of the others.
I also very much Iike his architectural work and the relatively soft colours he uses.

To be fair Alan I think it did disappear quite quickly so I’m not really surprised you missed it , I’m aware that you do make a point of looking at the thread . I agree with you Lew his architectural work is far more interesting than the landscape ones and very skilled work, the wet looking floor is a superb example of his skill.
Thanks Jenny we were writing about the same time I think , I’m not surprised you like the architecture work I did think it might appeal to you .
I also missed this on Wednesday. I think there were a couple of other themes that popped up at the same time, and probably derailed it? However, I also like his work, and especially the architectural pieces which are wonderful. I’m always impressed by an artist who can draw and paint such complex and impressive buildings and interiors. I love the second one in particular with the greenery leading up to the church.
A ew more to round off the week, in certainly inspired by his architectural work it’s really good and not over painted I think .
I really admire the first of the posts above.  If, in a moment of madness, I attempted such a painting, I'd rapidly get lost in all that perspective.   He's captured the sunlight in the second painting, I'm underwhelmed by the third offering...we see better than this from many of POL's landscapers, and the last is what I consider his forte...architecture. An interesting artist with much to admire.
Very impressive. I like them all.
Well here we are at the end of this week and I to a new weeks Inspiration, different things happening next week as it’s our 3 rd birthday. Yes hard to believe it’s week 156 , I’ve used the week number rather than the date as we had a glitch where a couple of week were duplicated, however we are still, ear to the exact date.  I will post on Sunday evening what we have planned, but a heads up there will be a challenge involved.  Hope you will join in and help to celebrate what is now the longest running thread on POL , and before we proceed with the week a big thanks to Dawn , who welcomed my suggestion and helped me get it off the ground.
