Some lovely choices in this thread. A favourite Christmas image of mine is Arthur Rackham's 'Santa Claus' from 1913. Yes, he has a red cloak, but this was before the Coco Cola style Santa overwhelmed everything else.
Another is by Vladislav Erko, a Ukrainian fantasy artist who paints in great detail. This is from the book 'The Snow Queen'.
Victor Nizovtsev, a Russian Fantasy and folk-lore artist, paints in a style I like very much. Here's a couple of his paintings.

Wonderful happy selection of paintings folks, made me think what a truly magical sight a lit up Christmas tree is. I especially like the little lad looking up at the tree.
A few more
Brueghel the Elder
Casper David Friedrich
Guido Reni from 1645 or thereabouts, beautifully and sensitively painted.

A few more Christmas trees for Tessa (well everyone really but don’t tell her) , some things change over the years but the trees seem to be still a focal point . Children are drawn to them like a magnet very small babies seem attracted by all the light and glitter fir me it Christmas time when the tree is put up and isn’t there such a hole when it’s taken down.
