PAM CARTER (1952 - 2022) was born in Tanzania, East Africa.  Her Scottish father and Austrian mother came to Glasgow when she was 13.  She gained a degree at Glasgow School of Art and lectured for many years in schools and colleges.  Throughout this time she exhibited her paintings and became a full time artist in 2003. “My main inspiration is in Scottish land and seascape.  I enjoy using colours to define contours, structures and changing light sequences.  I search out specific viewpoints and am equally inspired by the changing light of the Western Isles and the dramatic coastline.  I work predominantly in oils.” She has received various awards for her work and has featured in many publications such as Living Magazine and International Artist, as well as appearing in BBC programmes.

I like these Jenny , her work is so fresh  and clean looking , must have  a closer look at more of her work on line . Thank you for the introduction to her artwork, an artist I’ve not seen before.
Lovely composition on all of these, and I do like the almost ‘graphic’ qualities that I’m seeing… very clever stuff!
I like these too Jenny, fabulous paintings.
Wonderful style and colours.
I find these a bit of a shock to the system at the moment as we are surrounded by shades of white and grey here weather wise! I like her clean style of painting but the colour is a little too strong for me. Have we seen her work before or does it remind me of someone else?
Tessa, we haven’t looked at her work before, but it is similar to one or two others we’ve seen.  This time of year can be so miserable, thought a bit of colour might cheer things up.   (I’d happily hibernate for the winter months!)

Well it certainly does brighten things up, and a reminder that spring is not too far away!

Great find, Paul, love this artist’s work, the graphic quality to it and the colours he used.
