Welcome to this week thread where we will be looking at industrial landscapes in any medium, having searched on line there is quite a lot of artists who paint, and draw landscape. It will be interesting to see if we can find any in different mediums , I hopefully that some of you will track some down to add to the thread .  I’ve been conventional and gone with painting and drawings , hope you enjoy my selection. Lower painted a lot of industrial scenes mainly in his home town. Rowland  Hill Nigel Borington Fred Cuming These came up under industrial landscapes , I’m sure one of our more knowledgeable members will be able to answer this as I’m not sure about them. Several people have known his work for many years , hopefully the can post more .
Evening Light, watercolour by Trevor Hill.  Apologies for the quality of this image, it is a photo I took myself.  The painting is not only the first but the only original work of art I have bought at an exhibition.  I don't know where this was painted but it reminds me very much of the former steelworks up on Teesside.  A sight I often saw from the coastline, when I was a youngster over 50 years ago.  Hill is a local East Kent artist whom I suspect is little known even in the area.
One by Frank Mason from the Railway Posters thread we looked at some time ago.

A really interesting subject and selection Dixie. I can’t leave out LS for industrial!
Some  very nice selections made ,I’m pleased yiu like the thread Tessa , I was a bit worried it might not go down well, I like your painting Tony , the railway poster reminds me of going through Sheffield and Doncaster in the late fifties when travelling with my parents. At night it was amazing the glow from the track side industry and the steam engines having the greats cleared out , steam , smoke , dirty but I loved it , sadly children and adults never get to experience these childhood experiences. It’s great that artist took the time and interest to do these scenes in the different mediums , I do like looking at industry photos but it’s not quite the same as something captured in paint etc .  Be nice if by the end of the week you could do an industrial scene in your own style and choice of medium add to the thread .
Not a new one, but my version of a Cornish tin mine painted in monochrome (watercolour).
I love industrial landscapes, unfortunately they’ve almost vanished in my area - the famous pot kilns that were so common a few decades ago have all but been demolished. This one has survived and is now a museum…I’ve painted it dozens of times in most medium. Gladstone Pottery Museum, Burslem
Wonderful work Alan. Those buildings are such great shapes.  Here are a few more I like.
There's an old mill in Newport, IW, that I want to paint before a negligent council allows it to collapse - and I had something to do with preserving part of our old industrial buildings on Newport Quay some  - oh dear: must have been  50 years ago.  But we've lost so much, all over Britain; industrial buildings are part of our history, and so many have been knocked into rubble.  I suppose we can't keep everything, but if we lose everything that connection with our past is sundered.
I find these subjects so much more interesting than landscapes… Cement works sketch in pen and ink…
Some excellent work posted , nice to see sone of your own work Alan.  Four artists from me today , I was unaware of all of them until I was researching online yesterday. 1. Black Country Landscape by Constantin Meunier . 2. Eric Mercker. 3. Industrial Landscape Wales Perry Williams  4. Edwin Butler Baylis.
Another interesting selection Paul, this thread is inspirational for me…particularly at a time when I’m going through a lean spell and in need of inspiration!
