Loved Barry Island Tessa , it was running down when I was at St Athan in the early seventies , the run into Barry on the train was amazing full of derelict steam trains at Di Woodhams yard .  A bit of a change thought sone old food posters would be interesting , I noticed a cricket bad advertisement slipped in .  This next one is especially for Lew , I recall him mentioning seafood stalls .
Good selection Dixie. My dad was in the RAF at St Athan during the war. We used to go to their Open Days which I found fascinating. A friend’s son used to work on the old trains  but I think the yard has been cleared since. Barry island did become quite run down but I think the sea front area has been revamped since the Gavin and Stacy series brought a new crowd of visitors! A few more…

London Bridge and some of the shipping posters really are excellent and just my thing! The little girl (presumably alone) doing some shopping in the corner shop, is a reminder of how things have changed. - for the worst unfortunately, and not just the demise of the corner shop! Great to see them all…

Some bright coloured poster , I did find one from 1880 but unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a copy.
I love the Shredded Wheat poster reminds me of my childhood, having a picnic with my dolls and teddy in the backyard. I didn't particularly like dolls but they did have an outing on such occasions.
Here are a few for the wonderful Giffords Circus which travels around the Cotswolds and a little further away. If you ever get a chance to see it it’s amazing and hilarious.
A few more modern poster and some retro poster made to advertise modern services.
Next weeks featuring artists are Jill Soukup and Ralf Barker . We are almost at the end of the current list , it wold be very helpful to have some name for tbe upcoming months , I will need then by the end of next week.
Dixie, have we ever looked at David Curtis?
In week 72 Tessa , I’m planning a week of bringing up some of the artists have seen over the last few years , will be an opportunity to look at his work again. If I forget to include him please ease do so as it’s match better when you all join in and bring up artists that want  to see again. At the end of this current list , Jenny is taking a well deserved break and concentrating on her exhibition work, so I’m hoping that folk will take part more to help me run the thread . I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jenny for all the support and input she has given me and the tread since it started ,  THANK YOU JENNY I REALLY COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT, WITHOUT YOUR HELP SUPPORT AND KEEPING ME IN LINE . BEST WISHES WITH YOUR EXHIBITIONS AND I HOPE YOU HAVE  GOOD RESULTS .
Thank you, Paul, hopefully it won’t be a permanent break - I have really enjoyed the past few years, but have some family issues I need to focus on at the moment as well as preparing for several art group exhibitions later this year.  Hopefully more forum members will support you by suggesting and introducing artists - it would be such a shame if the thread gradually died out through lack of support.
