Welcome to this weeks inspiration thread , this week it’s your opportunity to post the work of your favourite still like artist of favourite still life painting. If like me yiu don’t have a favourite still life or follow any particular artist then look at still life paintings on line and choose sone that you do find interesting. You don’t need to go into a full blown introduction if yiu don’t want to just let us know who the artist is .  I’ve gone with two different style to open the thread my first choice is . Mia Laing followed by Jos Kivits . Mia Laing , I like the bright fresh look to her paintings, nothing to detail about it. Jos Kivits , in contrast to my first choice his work is far more detailed and realistic looking , I admire his skill in get so much into a painting without it look far to fussy.
A couple of pictures I like. First by Angie Lewin Second painting by John Nash
Here is mine. Post impressionist Paul Cezanne.   Simple and luscious .
Cezanne is certainly top of my list for still life, but I’ve taken the liberty of posting one of my own. I don’t paint many still life subjects, this one is in oil pastels and oil bars.
Forget traditional bowls of fruit, Vincent van Gogh with his simple chair study has to rate pretty highly on my list of favourite still life paintings! Interesting to see where he’s added his trademark signature on this piece…

Yes one of my favourite Vincent’s as well Alan.  I gave also taken the liberty of posting a fruity one of mine.
A couple I like. Micheal Taylor...featured in these threads already...
I think it’s great that you ate including some of your own work as well , I like both Alan’s and Sylvia’s work.  Can I take this opportunity to remind people that at the end of this month there is another special week this time it’s the opportunity to post your own paintings, select the ones that are your favourite . Not necessarily your best but the ones that are personal favourites.
Shirley Trevena has always been a favourite, but I’ve only recently come across Chris Canning’s beautiful work - two quite different styles. Shirley Trevena Chris Canning

I must admit that still life isn’t really my thing.  But the work on display is so good, I especially like Jenny’s posts by Shirley Trevena.
A couple more... A strange one...
Some lovely work posted , I’m quite enjoying looking at the still life paintings, something I don’t do often. Five different artists from me today, Laurin McCracken , just love that foil so difficult to achieve a look like this . Rebecca Scott, I like the colours of this painting.   David Cheifetz  these two just appeal to me , I prefer the second one . David Pollot , like the addition of the modern sweets etc into a traditional style still life. Todd M Casy , my favourite of the artist I’ve featured.
