Artist’s Statement.
“My two main subjects are the natural and urban environment , having lived in an industrial and later post industrial urban landscape has had a strong influence on my art.
I always aim to keep moving my art forward and enjoy risk taking, seeing no boundaries regarding how thing should or should not be done.”
I hope you enjoy the choices I have made, difficult to pick out as they are all excellent.

I knew nothing of David Brammeld before today - there's an awful lot of artists out there!
I notice a quite soft edge to many of his paintings - this may be the reproduction: or it may be that he eschews hard edges, which tend to be favoured these days. I prefer his landscapes to his urban scenes largely for that reason - the landscapes just look sharper, in detail, colour and form. Even his monochrome drawing has a softness to it - too hard and defined, and you tend to produce paintings that resemble stage sets; too soft and it looks as though you're a bit myopic.... I need to take a much longer look at his paintings, but - I like them; which is more than half the battle.

I thought there would be some discussion around the different ways he paint his urban and landscapes , it was the urban paintings that first attracted me. I like them because they are different, I know that all artist paint landscapes different to each other but we have a lot of landscape artist and painting whereas hid building are done in a very unique style I can see why they are very popular.
