I have just browsed through and enjoyed this thread again before it disappears, and if I had to pick out one (not really possible!)  I very much like the snow scene above (winter at Asogatan) because I love the idea that anyone would tog up like this with all their gear and paint in the snow, and I also like the group of people around him looking on! Great choice Lew.
Time to slip some more in Lew before we change artists I won’t be posting any till around one o’clock.
OK.  A  few more... A couple of their house.  Their lifestyle designs drew attention, because it was so different to the Victorian style that held sway at the time. Some random pictures...
Thoroughly enjoyed learning about him Lewis and admire his work greatly - all of it!
Well what difficult act to follow, I’m not even going to attempt such a wonderful presentation.  A very different artist from Lew’s choice but it’s always to to be different we’ll do they say , my choice of artist this week is  Ryan Mutter  b1978 , a British artist who graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2001 and since  building up a formidable reputation as a contemporary painter of Industrial and Maritime subjects. His bold realism combined with his expressionistic brushwork take you into a world of detailed and mechanical scenes. His inspiration comes from the British Industrial Heritage and it connects man and the sea.  Living in Glasgow he had ample opportunity to search out scenes locally as at one time some 70, 000 were employed in engineering and shipyard. Within the Glasgow area . Mixed Bio sone from on line and my additional information. I hope you enjoy the choices I have made .
Really interesting choice of artist, Paul. I like his subject matter and his bold, almost monochromatic style of painting.  Some very powerful images.  I particularly like these two, especially the first one, for their more graphic quality.

Much more my thing, wonderfully powerful graphic style illustrations… I keep going back to several of them, studying them in detail - the strong tonal values are what stands out to me, get them right and you can’t go far wrong!
Wow...another find.  At first glance I prefer the monochrome, or extremely limited palettes, to the colour paintings...not that there seem to be many of them.  He's another painter of bygone days, on his website he says it's important to celebrate the recent past.  The very first of Paul's posts blew me away, and I like Jenny's picks. Here's a few I like... 'A bonny bow.' 'Comradery.' 'A stroll in the park.' 'From Glasgow to the world.'
I have to admit that I was unsure of the reaction I would get to his work from most of you but I did think when I first noticed his work that both Alan and Lew would like them , looks like I guessed right for once . I want sure of Jenny’s reaction but nor surprise with her response interesting to see what others make of him .
And another one! A great find Paul
Great pics Paul….tells a story.
I like his work and have chosen a few more. His faces are very strong and I think show the hardship of the docks and shipbuilding work of their time.
