My choice of artist this weekend is John Freeman1942 - a born and bred Yorkshireman who loves to paint remote areas and dilapidated buildings.
John lives in Whitby where he has a gallery selling his paintings, he paints exclusively in watercolour he loves the immediacy medium which he finds exiting and stimulating.
I hope you enjoy my selection of his work,.

As a feeble dabbler in watercolour on occasion myself, I wonder how he approaches his paintings: I have known a number of watercolourists, some of whom start with a very careful drawing - I'd imagine that's what Mr Freeman generally does - others who go straight in with the brush with not so much as a prelimary mark. The end result is what matters to the viewer, not the procedure - but we here are bound to be interested in both.
Either way, I really like his painting of trees - no fuss, minimal, very effective - and the accuracy of his observations: the Whitby Abbey paintings are evocative of the place - desolate, lonely, defiant.

John Freeman’s work captures the kind of focus and precision I admire—much like a great poker player’s strategy. As someone who loves the thrill of a calculated gamble, I often draw inspiration from art when refining my game. Speaking of which, if anyone’s into poker, exploring poker sites not on Gamstop can be quite the creative escape. This https://uk.notgamstop.com/casino-games/poker-not-on-gamstop/ page has some excellent resources. It’s fascinating how art and strategy can intertwine in unexpected ways!
