Welcome to this weeks Bonus Artist thread my choice of artist ti is week is
Oliver Hall RA, RE, RWS, was a landscape painter in oil and watercolour and an etcher with a preference for rugged moorlands and Spanish subjects.
He studied at the Royal College of Art 1887-90 and in evening classes at the Westminster and Lambeth Schools of Art.
He made his debut at the Royal Academy in 1890 where he regularly exhibited paintings and etchings till 1921 .
His son is Claude Muncaster 1903-1974 , one of my personal favourite artists.
I hope you enjoy my selection of his artwork I’ve included both painting and some of his graphite drawings.

Good solid traditional drawing technique, which he would have honed these skills whilst studying at the RCA. It would have been an integral part of the curriculum!
I like all of the postings, but in particular the first one with the group of trees.
Masterful stuff indeed!

I like the two you have posted Tessa , I’m definitely a fan of his tree sketch’s and paintings he is a excellent all round artist I think .
I do agree with you about being able to see his love of the countryside, I also think it one of the things he passed on to his son who produces some excellent artwork, both are very much appreciated by me and are in the top ten of my favourite artists.
I only came across Oliver Hall because I was studying his son as part of my studies into marine art , I’m surprise at how I discover other artists by chance when looking up someone else .

Dangerous suggesting artists to Mr Dean - he'll rope you in to doing an intro! Taking that risk, I found some paintings by one Hulda Guzmán yesterday - a still living artist, from the Dominican Republic, I think.
Her work can be found at the Stephen Friedman Gallery, to whom acknowledgements for the use of this image.
