Welcome to Week 13 the bonus artist this week is Robert Noble RA, ARSA,PSSA 1857 - 1917. Robert Noble was the first President of The Society of Scottish Artists and was predominately a landscape artist. He is one of the many artists that I have discovered whilst researching and is one of the finest I have come across . Like a lot of artists born about the same time some of his work has the Victorian chocolate box look , but I suppose it’s how he lived and had food on the table . The majority of his landscape are superb and beautifully painted I think many could grace a wall in a lot of houses these day .  I hope you enjoy his artwork as much as I do, I have been very greedy and have posted quite a selection but there is plenty left for you to choose from.

Another artist that I haven’t come across before! Much of his work is of the era, part Victorian and quite dark, yes, they may well need cleaning! I’ve found a couple of landscapes I quite like, I think I’ve probably duplicated one of Paul’s so apologies if I have. To be honest, I’m not even sure if my first one is by him… but I know someone who will let me know if it isn’t…
A great selection of works from an artist I am not familiar with. I''ll  certainly be looking him up .
Don’t worry Alan it worth seeing twice. I did wonder if both of you gents were aware of his work , and I though you might like them Michale. Like a lot of the artists of his era you need to look deeper to find the hidden gems and there are some in there.
That cornfield is magnificent.
I also hadn’t heard of this artist but found a few works that I like, some good sky painting and more haystacks, aiming for the idyllic scene I guess. I like the rough unfinished look of the foreground in the first. I do like his rhododendrons here, though the composition seems a bit odd. Pretty impressive skies.
Had a quick look at his work - really like the cornfields painting which Paul and Alan have already posted.  Will have another look tomorrow.  (Alan, came across the first one you posted - it appears to have been by an artist called Sheena Phillips and was a winner in the Robert Noble Memorial Awards competition which it is why it was linked to his name.)

I came across this one which is a different from those posted thus far in that it features people in an interior with great sense of light.
Thanks Jenny, it was clearly not by Robert Noble, there we are once again…  I do like that interior Michael!
Certainly one I will look up Paul, some lovely paintings posted already.
I certainly agree Denise, some really nice paintings have been pick out. There are many more please to have a look I’m sure there will be something you particularly like .  Inspector Jenny strikes again , well done for solving another case , it’s great that you are able to get the information for us .
I'm still finding my way, having just joined this version of painters-online. I like looking at the forum posts,  especially Artistic Inspiration, but havent contributed anything yet. To great to learn about artists (and see examples of their work) you may not have paid much attention to before. I'm not familiar with Robert Noble but I've now googled him. To be honest I probably wouldn't have stopped to look for long if I have come across his work.  It may be the traditional landscape colours that put me off a bit. I think it's simply the colours and subject matter don't excite/inspire me.   Having said that I think some of the examples that Paul has posted are quite attractive so maybe I should take more time to look.
