Some excellent choice’s Tessa . It very selfish of me but I’m really enjoying this thread , learning about so many artist and to be honest it’s more fun doing it with others and seeing their choices etc. I have a really large list for  us to look , at but don’t be shy about suggesting more , I’m so pleased it’s working well and so many are enjoying it.

That’s not selfish at all Dixie! It’s a great idea and has introduced me at least to quite a few artists I had never heard of. I’ve actually now ordered a book about Andrew Wyeth  as I’d like to know more about him,  his art and life.  I understand his whole family painted so will be interested to see their work as well.

Agree with Tessa, Paul.  This thread was an inspired idea and is proving both very enjoyable and educational!  It’s good of you to organise it, and the number of people taking part is gradually increasing, so hopefully it will continue for as long as you’re happy to manage it.  Arthur Rackham is another artist well worth adding to your list.

Thanks Jenny I will add him , will you do the intro?. I thought I knew the name he is one on the list of people I noticed , but I would really appreciate you doing the intro  his work is really interesting .

Paul, yes, I would be happy to do the intro., although I know Arthur Rackham is also one of Lewis’s favourite artists - maybe he would like to introduce him, if not I will do it.

Thank you for your very kind comments, it was one of those sudden thought that led to me approaching Dawn.  They don’t happen very often I assure you , I had noted a few comment about the forum and I suppose it prompted me .  I have to say that it’s a nice feeling that it works , and they way I look at it is that it’s the forum members whom decide who we look at and how it’s run . My task is to listen and and where possible do as you ask, any ideas to tweak the thread please suggest them . I had thought of a slight change to the tile by dropping the favourite artist and having Inspiration from Artists , I will be guided by you good folk on that . As to managing the thread I’m thoroughly enjoying myself and I’m more than happy to plod on , but please don’t let it get boring.

Just read a small article about Andrew Wyeth and that thousands of previously unseen paintings are to be put on views, it was just a few lines no details . Hopefully we will be able to see some on line, something to look forward to. 
With Sarah, Phil, Ellen, Rose the dentist, and the granddaughter whose name I forget.
