All these linocut examples are superb! They aren’t easy and the level of detail is extraordinary!
What a joy, those Lino cuts are super.  Another artist of whom I had no knowledge thanks Andrew for the intro.
I remember Bawden's illustrations for any number of book covers - he was very prolific.  Not only was he prolific - he was, as has been said, bloody good!
I'm not an abstract man, I just don't understand likeness in it. Wouldn't do it, will not try it. But I do respect that people are different. What I don't understand and appreciate, for others might be sense of their life. Knowledge, education is important, so I'm thanking you to providing me opportunity to learn something about different styles in art making.
A couple more of his linocuts - lovely designs and beautifully done.
Some beautiful Lino cuts , it’s something I only ever did at school many years ago but I have a,ways admire them . The ones that Jenny has selected are superb and so intricate the skill needed to achieve such delicate work is mind boggling.  Some more Lino cuts and lithographs.

I’ve been reading about his linocutting techniques.  He often worked on a large scale - Brighton Pier was apparently one and a half metres long and he placed it on the floor and used his feet to press the print!  Others, like the vase with grasses above, were approx. 2ft  x 3 ft.
There were two editions of the Brighton Pier print, both were of roughly the same size. The one I included appears to be from 1977 (the other from 1958) and strangely doesn’t include two sections of buildings on either side , one of which includes Brighton Pavilion. I suspect the jpeg I found was cropped. I found the 1958 edition in an exhibition catalogue and the colours are also significantly different with the word Palace in black  and the sea a muddy brown instead of the turquoise.  I recently found some of Bawden’s designs on bathroom tiles in a National Trust property in Devon, so his work is seemingly everywhere.

Andrew, I came across these three designs he did for the Brighton Pier linocut showing how his idea for its design progressed.

The one at the bottom is the design of the 1958 version in my catalogue. Really interesting to see his work in development, thanks for finding these Jenny.
What wonderful work.I do especially like the one of the Taylor in his workshop. Will look him up. I also wasn’t familiar with his work.
