Busy at the workshop , it’s going well just nosy to see what’s going on then back to work. Excellent paintings Jenny , I will look tonight when I get home and have the chance to look properly.
Must admit I hadn't read the blurb.....yup a load of arty bollocks .   Still like his paintings  though.     Somewhere I have done something similar sans masking fluid .  Will have a hunt . Twas based on Mr Red Faces garden.
Oh wow, I really like this painter. Thanks Jenny.
He might have used white gouache in places, rather than masking.  He certainly uses splatter techniques - and effectively.   But I just wish bloody silly people, too often in art colleges, wouldn't encourage painters to say bloody silly things - not a word of that statement on his website makes so much as an iota of sense - if you can't write decent blurb, give up on it: don't try; let your work speak for yourself, as Thorn's can so readily do.   Let us in on some of your methods - I can see some of them myself, but would be interested to know and explore them further: but don't insult others or yourself with nonsense verbiage, especially when you can't even spell it!   I hope I haven't spoiled the party - he's a superb painter; but for God's sake spare us this fatuous waffle.
Oh dear, wish I hadn’t included that quote now!  Robert, did you look at that article I referred to on his painting techniques, think you would find it interesting.
Fatso fingers....sorry. Silly o clock.

Jenny - I'd have seen it anyway when I went to his website.  Artballs is a nasty condition, and needs to be treated wherever you find it.
Artball aside he is a excellent artist , I do like how he gets yeh light reflections on the water . I have selected quite a few I like mostly of boats  but I do like his landscapes as well thanks for suggesting him Jenny. .
Another great artist. I'm sticking this thread to my studio page.
Next weeks artist are Aubrey Beardsley and Emile Claus. Have a good weekend.
There's some splendidly filthy stuff from Beardsley - I dare you to show some of it!  See Oscar Wilde's Salome ....  Back to Thorn for a second - the harbour picture, the penultimate posting: it's brilliant, and there's no other word for it: his pictorial judgement is just about perfect (the swine!) - Ken Howard, who specialized in painting light in all its forms, would have been impressed.

Or indeed, the story of Lysistrata...
