Well spotted Denise! I wasn’t going to pass judgement on him, just state facts. But I think you have hit nail on head. I felt that he was quite detached and not at all warm, but no doubt his groupees and women felt differently. None the less, I wish I could paint like him.
I have no idea about the results, Russell. I did not look. I did a series of poses for pencil sketches, during which we had a conversation. He virtually gave me a lecture about what I could not do! So I got out as soon as I could without looking at his drawings.

Robert Lenkeiwicz - what an excellent choice and not sure if I can come near to it but....
I mentioned Michael King of Black Swan Studios to Paul some while back. However, we have already featured Kandinsky and will be featuring Miro in the future, and since MK’s work is very much in the same genre I thought perhaps it would be appropriate to also consider other contemporary artists with the same name.
So first Michael King of Black Swan Image Works. Michael King specialises in graphic design photography, graphic art and fine art and brings his love of artistry to all his work. He is clearly influenced by the aforementioned Kandinsky and Miro and, in turn, he has influenced me in much of my own work of late. Sadly, even though I’ve admired him for a long time now, I’ve not been able to uncover much information about him. What I do know is that he is an accomplished artist who runs a successful Graphic Design Company called Black Swan Image Works which was founded in 2003 and which specialises in art, logos, and branding. It has an impressive clientele and is based in the USA.
Here’s another Michael King: contemporary Canadian artist who has a love of impressionism, painting mainly in oils and a wide range of subject matter from landscapes and still lifes through to portraiture. Rather than go on at length I can do little more than point you in the direction of his website:
https://www.michaelking.ca
So here is an example (my personal favourites) of each artist to get the ball rolling. I know of at least two other artists with the same name so if anyone wants to investigate them please feel free to add them to the discussion.

What stood out most for me when looking at the Canadian artist was this simple, yet very effective painting of the ionic Zippo. In oil, and done to perfection in my eyes.
Zippo.
Michael king, Graphic designer, this piece of work I liked because of the colours he has used. Yes his work is heavily influenced by Kandinsky.
There is another line with watercolour fill, he did in May 2022, I rather like but I can't download or copy the image.

I like them both but have a preference for your painting due to the added colours and the additional shape. I can see how he along with artists have influenced some of your own work. I think this style look simple but it’s not that easy to achieve such a good look with a few lines etc , without knowing what your doing. The tendency for me having tried recently is to add to much and that complicates the painting which spoils the look .

Also like the work of the graphic designer Michael King.

And a lovely little still life.
