Welcome to week 133 of the thread , before moving on to this weeks artists I would like to thank Jenny for taking a care of the thread and doing the bonus artist last week . It was nice having the week to concentrate on other things without worrying about what was happening on the thread .
This weeks artists are Phil Greenwood introduce by Jenny and Billy Showell introduced by myself . Jenny will open with her introduction and I will follow on Wednesday.
Have a good week and I hope you enjoy the artwork of featuring artists .

PHIL GREENWOOD was born in 1943 in North Wales and now lives in Kent. Educated at Harrow and Hornsey Colleges of Art, he went on to teach and lecture in printmaking for a short time , and since 1971 has been a professional artist/printmaker.
A landscape artist, he works mainly on copper plates. His work is very economical in that he usually uses only two plates and two to three colours to achieve a wide range of tone and colour by the depth of the etch and by overprinting and fusing one colour with another. His images do not always relate to a specific place, but develop through an amalgamation of ideas recalled.
His work has been used by the National Trust as well as in books such as the Encyclopedia of Printing, and for articles and front cover illustrations for various publications including Leisure Painter.
The following are all etchings with aquatint.

Thank you for the introduction Jenny , his work is stunning and the colours he achieved with so few basic colours is amazing.
Just had a very quick look at his work, it’s outstanding all of it, here are a few I picked within a minute , all beautifully done. I will have a closer look tomorrow.

I protest! He's no business being this good!
No, it's fabulous work, in a demanding but very satisfying medium - satisfying to see that is, I've not ever tried it, and now I'm most unlikely to. Wouldn't you love a couple of these on your wall? I would! And I have a birthday coming up in November, so now's your chance....
I'm all out of superlatives - just wonderful work; I have seen some of them before, via the National Trust, but they're just glowing off the page here.

Thanks Jenny I must admit I thought it looked different but it was mixed up with his and I must admit I jumped on in eagerness thinking that’s something different. Teach me to nit take to much notice of the internet but I never learn and no doubt will mess it up again , still every class or organisation has its clown 🤡.

Please don’t feel mean I’m pleased you did point it out otherwise I would not have known . As to google reverse image I go into a right mess last time I tried and needed my son-in-law to sort out my iPad after , I’m a total idiot when it co se to technology, in use to spinets and hammers . I am serious when I say I have to get my eight year old granddaughter to sort it out sometimes and her older sister to show me what I’ve done wrong on my Chromebook, now if they had a steam valve connected I would be more about.
