Thank you once again Jenny for introducing another artist with stunning work. Love them all!
Another amazing artist, fantastic work.
Paul, if your various infants are available, I could do with a crash course myself.... Incidentally, my birthday is in November, so PLENTY of time for you all to club together and buy me a couple of these images....  You KNOW you want to....
Now for something very  different, my choice of artist this week is : BillybShowell, an internationally known botanical artist, Illustrator and tutor based in Kent. Billy has won various botanical awards, her work is held at Kew Gardens and in various private collections throughout the world. I only recently came across her work and was immediately impressed with the colours, detailing and her skill in producing such beautiful paintings . I hope you enjoy my selection. My favourite is the single daisy with its shadow , it’s so beautifully done.
At first, I wasn't sure who Billy Showell was, but the moment you showed her work, of course I recognized it; I've seen it before, and agree with you - if it isn't perfection, I don't know what perfection means.
I agree Robert , I think we have all seen some of her work before and maybe not known who she was . To have your work at Kew must be one of the greatest accolades a botanical artist could have , they have  some superb botanical artwork stored there and on display.
Highly skilled and beautiful. Just not my taste at all!
Ah, taste!  Not the same thing as appreciation of skills, is it..?  It's not really to my taste either, but if I were offered one of her paintings to hang on my well, I'd still jump at it; there are times maybe when admiration of skills surpasses personal inclination, and I think this would be one of those times.   I'm sure she sells well, though, so won't be depending on our patronage.
Like Helen and Robert, her work isn’t generally to my taste, but it is beautiful and very skilfully painted.  I do like the composition and soft colours in this one, though.

I’m the  same as you good folk ,not exactly my thing but like  a lot of artist we have featured I admire the skill that’s needed to achieve such high quality work. I’m more and more drawn to the skill of the artist rather than the actual subject they paint , there are of course exceptions where it’s the subject that I particularly like.  I do think it’s sad when people dismiss a artist simply  because they don’t like the subject matter , I can’t imagine anyone who paints or draws themselves doing so .
I do like the composition of four vases/containers in a row. It's unusual and gives me ideas - see, Paul started something with his tryptic. Her flowers seem to be having a conversation with each other in a row.
I’ve had a good trawl through a lot of her work to find something different, it’s all botanical as you can imagine given thst it’s her subject matter. Picked these out as I do like them .
