Jenny will start the week off with her introduction to Angela Harding and on Wednesday Lewis will introduce us to his choice of artist John Byrne . I’m working on a list of artist that we have already seen and hope to post this once I’ve spell checked the name later in the week . Have a good week and enjoy the artwork.

Angela Harding is a British printmaker.  Born in 1960 in Stoke on Trent she studied Fine Art and printmaking at Leicester Polytechnic followed by an MA in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University.  During her student days she was mainly an etcher, but since 2008 has worked in lino/vinyl and silkscreen. She works from her home studio which looks out over the farmland of Rutland.  The recurring inspiration for her work is the flora and fauna of the British countryside and she attempts to capture the mood and atmosphere of her surroundings.  There is an allegorical aspect to her work which references British art of the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s, and artists such as Eric Ravilious, David Jones and Winifred Nicholson.
She is inspiring! I love her sparing use of colour.
A very accomplished printmaker, wonderful examples Jenny…
Wonderful and fascinating work Jenny with so much to look at. I love the positioning of her animals and birds and how they fit into the landscape.
Terrific art.  She has her own style and take on things, with the extra interest that she's a print maker.  This has always fascinated me.  Huge creative and practical skills involved.
Thank you for the excellent introduction Jenny , a artist that I did not know about and a pleasure to be shown here superb artwork.  I’ve started with a online photo of her at work it’s interesting to see her actually cutting the picture. Yes I’m greedy
A few more….. Love the hedgehog, and the sense of swirling movement in her bird prints.

I’ve just looked at her website and found a few more I like (well I liked all of them actually) and here they are.
They are so clean and crisp, the colours beautiful.  The sky in the second to last of Tessa's choices is stylish, different and very effective.  A marvelous artist.
An eye opener, Jenny. This thread certainly broadens the artistic horizon. Superb work. All a treat to view so no favorites. A question how is the colour applied. I've seen the black printing being done on the TV but haven't seen how colour is added? And which medium is used?
I agree Carol. We have certainly been introduced to some wonderful artists I would not otherwise have encountered, and even the very few I haven’t particularly liked have been interesting to read about. I have looked at Angela’s website. Some of her work is Lino cut, some silk prints, but she doesn’t really go into much detail. Jenny will know I’m sure!  Over to you Jenny.
