Hello John , the site is usually used for people to post their own paintings in the gallery. Are the paintings your own work as you could then upload to your gallery, but it’s not a site for selling artwork in general . Some members do sell their own paintings, someone might be able to redirect you if your just wanting to sell a collection of paintings. Be interesting to see some of the work if it's your own but I honestly don’t think many painting are sold on this site as I said most people paint their own and probably have quite a few , good luck whatever you do .

If a painter is well-known, then you could put it into a specialist auction, or try selling it to a gallery, or even art or antique/collectibles shop. If you have a website or Facebook page/blog, you could advertise it there. There are so many painters out there, I don't remember, without the help of Mr Google, whether John Kingsley is a good seller or not. Paul is right about this site - some of us do offer work for sale here, but I doubt that many are successful: it's not really a place that buyers look at as a first choice, though I have sold a limited number (of my own paintings) through contacts made here. Just a marketing tip, by the way: you're likely to have better luck if you say 'I have a fine painting by X, which I've enjoyed but now need to pass on, at this remarkably low price' (you define the word 'low' here); saying you don't have a use for the painting doesn't do its prospects any favours.... it gets a bit too near to saying 'I'm sick of the sight of this old daub, and want to get shot of it': might be OK if you can master irony, but most people aren't going to be rushing to you waving wads of cash unless you speak of it as an object of real value and interest.
I appreciate that you're really asking for advice about leads and outlets here, rather than making a sales-pitch.

As John Kinglsey's Evening Shadows, Fayence is shown as 'sold' by the Duncan R Millar Fine Arts website, which suggests it has only recently sold, I am just a little puzzled why you don't take it back to them. I am sure their website or Gallery in St James would be a suitable place to sell it. Though of course you would have to pay commission, but you could always adjust the price!

He has passed a couple of years ago and has left me the painting, amongst others. All the paintings that I like are currently on the show in my home. But there are others (including the this one) which aren’t of my liking so was looking to sell them. (Something I’m not particular well versed in) Appreciate your help gentleman.
