Hi, just wanted to introduce myself.  I'm 48 and from Melbourne, Australia.   I'm glad to have found this forum and art community and look forward to sharing my art.  I've been doing art for about 13 years and self taught.   Love painting and drawing birds and animals the most but I do dabble in landscapes too.  Looking forward to getting to know everyone here :)

Welcome to the forum and gallery Cathrine , I hope you will join in the chat on the forum despite being in a different time zone. We are usually a friendly bunch but like all forums opinions vary and it can get a bit heated, and very rarely it becomes a bit to much, usually one of the moderators will try to calm it down before it get abusive but it very rarely get to that point . I like the two pieces your  have posted in your gallery the charcoal sketch is particularly good, be nice to see more on there  in time .

I cannot see the link, Carol.  But it's unusual to see a new member post a welcome to someone who is already on the system. Is the post you saw - the one above, without the link?

I wanted to let you know that I removed the link in the post in question because it appeared to be a marketing ploy. Sometimes, individuals join forums like this with the intention of posting seemingly innocuous messages, only to later edit them to include promotional links to unrelated websites. This is a common tactic used to boost the visibility of those links through forum traffic or search engine indexing. In this case, the link in the post didn’t contribute meaningfully to the discussion and raised some red flags.
