Hi, I am an armature artist having taken up art as a hobby about 8 years ago as something to keep me busy during early retirement. Initially I started off with Airbrush but have since expanded my skillset to Oils, Pastels, Coloured pencil , Pyrography and lately Watercolors. I don't have on favourite medium, sometimes the subject matter may lend itself to one type of medium, I am however really enjoying watercolours at the moment. Mt subject matter is predominately wildlife and tens to include a lot of birds or big cats.
Looks like this is a lovely place to share and learn ..

Hi Steve , welcome to the forum and POL. Your two paintings are superb can I suggest thst you put them in the gallery if you haven’t already done do. It is a good place to be with plenty of interesting people, information and really good for advice and feedback. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

It’s that object at the bottom of the painting Marjorie. You fill the cup or reservoir with ink, couple it up to a small compressor via a hose and spray a controlled fine jet of ink onto your design or whatever your working on.
It’s tedious but skilled work, you need to repeatedly mask areas off, change colours etc. I’ve got a Devilbiss airbrush and compressor but haven’t used it for a decade at least.
