Vivien's retirement

Vivien, who was deputy editor on The Artist for 13 years, retired last week. We had a lovely leaving celebration and one of our contributors, Tom Robb, helped surprise Vivien by joining us for lunch. We were all quite emotional as we celebrated with some champagne, whilst giving her leaving presents. I dare say having got over the fact that she doesn't have to get up for work every morning, Vivien will be enjoying the start of her retirement with her grandchildren as we speak! We all welcome Deborah Wanstall, The Artist's new deputy editor, who's settling in well as part of our team. (In the photo you see here, Vivien is on the right, with Sally, editor of The Artist, on the left. They're holding a painting by Tom Robb which was one of our presents to her.) So, it's a resounding 'three cheers' for Vivien - we'll all miss her! And a warm welcome to Deborah!
