Hi everyone. just wanted to share with you my thoughts about using oils. This is a new medium for me. I have recently started an art class again with my old tutor and it seemed the perfect opportunity when i was asked what i would like to do. My two sons gave me some oils for a birthday present a year ago and i have wanted to use them since then. I love figure painting and wanted to see how well the colours blend together. I was very happy with my first attempt which was of a boot.It was good to not to be faced with problematic hard lines when using acrylic. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is not a messy medium and have not found the smell of linseed oil a problem either. My biggest problem is finding somewhere safe to put the paintings to dry.... So as you can tell I really am inspired to continue to learn and practice! Oh for a studio!
