The Cathedral's finished

How time flies by - I've missed updating you on days 3 and 4! Well it was all fantastic. I worked a lovely flat surface on my block, and went up the scaffolding to fix a block on one of the towers (that makes me sound like I did it, but actually I only did some pointing), which was a great experience. It was so interesting to see all the old stonework at the top of the tower, how it's corroded over the years, and just how much work is left to do - it'll never be finished surely. I learned so much with the masons, and feel privileged to have been able to spend time there. Moving on... I've also spent a day with a stone sculptor in Rye. It's interesting to compare his working methods to those at the Cathedral. He's given me a rough block of Bath stone to work with, and I worked two flat surfaces on it that day. I hope to go back soon and do something creative with it. Now I'm preparing for the unit assessment next week. I've spent two weeks using photoshop to create a research poster, and for assessment we have to do a presentation on this and the work we've done during our placement. I'll let you know how I get on...
