SUDDENLY I CAN SEE

SUDDENLY I CAN SEE

What fun.

Having had a second cataract op last week i walked my dog Squeak this morning in the fields at the back of my home... wow, oh wow I suddenly realised what I had been missing . I have probably regained 40% of my sight in my left eye and a fair amount in my right eye that eye has other problems so will never really be amazing. But oh the excitement, the colour the detail !! I have been unknowingly been missing so much , AND its early days yet so the improvement will hopefully get even better .

Mmmmm let me think Marjorie....;-)

Well, I've got a tooth abcess at the moment........

You did make me laugh Marjorie. You are so right eyes are so very precious. Bet you haven't had retinal Occlusion as well..................lol .

Very glad for you Sylvia. Eyes are so crucial and when you love painting , even more so. I've had glaucoma ops in both eyes and ops for cataracts next year - this sounds like the Monty Python sketch "I grew up in a cardboard box" ( if you remember it, about going one better). But what I'm saying is I really understand what you've gone through. Don't worry about the dust!

Thanks Christine . The other down side is all the dust and grunge I can now see.

Hi Sylvia, I've just read your blog and I'm so pleased that your op has been a success! My friend had her cataracts done recently and it has been lfe changing for her the only downside (she says) is being able to see how much she's aged! Hope you continue to improve. Christine x

Yes George it's amazing the difference it has made , I also have other problems in one eye but the boost to my confidence is wonderful. I didn't reall y intend this blog to be a medical report but I am just so happy .

I had my second Cataract operation this summer just gone and I was amazed at the difference it made . I still have problems with Glaucoma so my vision is not perfect but is so much better than it was twelve months ago. I wish you well and hope you have many more years painting.

Thank you for your lovely comments C A Jones. Like you I had always had great vision and until things go wrong you just take it for granted. I am just enjoying the enhancement of shapes and colours with greater clarity. It's wonderful .

Its wonderful to read you have had success with the improvement of your vision, something I think we who have perfect vision take for granted. It must be like having the light switched back on after a power cut. I hope you vision goes from strength to strength so you can enjoy once again the rainbow of colour nature has to offer. Kind Regards CA Jones
