Sketch for Survival

Sketch for Survival - Wildlife Art Exhibition and Online Charity Auction I was interested to read in the July edition of The Artist about ‘Sketch for Survival’, an exhibition and sale of wildlife art donated by selected professional artists and celebrities to raise funds for wildlife conservation. This annual event is run by the charity Explorers Against Extinction and this year the charity has also invited amateur artists to enter a competition for a chance to see their work exhibited alongside that of the professional artists and celebrities. The core Sketch for Survival artworks, the Invitational Collection, will consist of 150 pieces, comprising sketches, studio artworks, illustrations and cartoons, all depicting endangered wildlife from around the world. Additionally, 100 winning entries from the competition have been selected for inclusion in the exhibition. I am delighted that my little illustration ‘Enjoying a Paddle’ has been chosen as one of the winning artworks! The exhibition will tour five locations in the UK in the autumn and all work will be sold in an online auction to raise funds for the charity. If you’d like to know more about the charity and this fund-raising event, their website is ww.explorersagainstextinction.co.uk.

I love this painting. So simple yet so expressive. Amazing.

Thanks, John, it's fun taking part in competitions, especially if, like this one, they're for a good cause.

Well done Jenny. Looks like your elephants are showing there approval.
