I love to try and capture the mood in a painting and the best way to do this in my opinion is the sketch book. I don't like photos add much... You forget the mood the light exactly and sometimes why you decided to do the painting in the first place. There are no rules to my sketch book sometimes I use a grid system for the latter painting, sometimes I don't even do this... It's about spontaneous effects.. The speed sketch in pen I love for movement, but then I will do a blanket colour pen patchwork at the side just to set the mood for the final painting.. It's not cast in stone but is a beginning for the final work.. Let's see how the final painting looks, I will put it on the gallery.. Cheers Abe..
