I have been painting for quite some time now, trying to learn new techniques and trying very hard to improve on the ones i know, but recently i went to the national portrait awards exhibition and it made me realise how much i have to learn still, what an array of talent was in that hall, it was the best exhibition in a long time, the winner was very brave in her choice of model, but it shows that death is part of life even in Art. I am trying to use Pastel now and having a lot of fun with it, but i need help, does anyone know any good books where you can see different techniques to get a better finish.
