Back to my evening presentation, I had compiled a series of paintings of well known plein air artists for a data projector show, to inspire, aspire, and as it turned out to perspire to! We had a discussion on which paintings we liked, disliked and why, it was also useful to note what techniques were employed and how to go about representing them ourselves. I felt it was important to show very fast and loose paintings alongside more lengthy considered ones, it was not my intention to freak anyone out by setting unrealistic expectations, nor to bore any of my higher ability learners.
