Oops, there goes January

Doesn't time fly when you are having fun? Now both my classes have started (the third painting lesson will be tomorrow and the third thrown pottery lesson on Saturday) the weeks just seem to disappear. What I have discovered is that I am NOT a natural at thrown pottery. So far I have made one successful bowl-shape and two successful pot-shapes. Hmmm I have started a new sketchbook for my set of paintings, but have not much luck in having a lengthy stay sketching in the National Gallery (usually having to be somewhere else or its closing). Tomorrow I plan on being there from after class until evening. There are a surprising number of paintings containing sheep and cattle that I can use as inspirations/practice for my farmscapes. Oooh, the other thing I had noticed was that the RA are calling for entries for the Summer Exhibition. I had wondered if anyone had entered into this. I do like going and as always, wished I had submitted (nothing ventured, nothing gained....), but would love to hear the experiences of those who have and perhaps been accepted to show. I hope January has been a productive month for you all....I should have another painting to show tomorrow as the first two-week project finishes.
