Old Town Week etc

Apologies for not being as on the ball as I should have been this month! Painting has been put on hold for a while as I have been busy with the new shop and studio. Having my etching press back where I can use it has been wonderful and I have been busy printing old plates and working on some new etchings of Hastings which I hope to have ready by Christmas (it is an infuriatingly laborious process!) August is Old Town week in Hastings and as the newest kid on the block I wanted to make a big impression. The High Street traders have a prize for the best dresed window and so for the first half of the month I ran a Art competition in the window - recontructing famous artworks from bits and pieces found in local junk shops! I have taken photographs and put them on my website so if you're feeling brave visit http:www.ryepress.com/doyouthinkyourartenough.html I have also entered work in The Weald of Kent summer show in Tenterden Town Hall which kicked off on Sunday and The Rye Tuesday painters exhibition which ended yesterday. All in all a busy month, I hope to be able to post some new work here soon!
