I have only just taken up painting. I have watched a few videos on You Tube and decided to have a go. My trouble is I am too impatient and wanted to get going, so I expect I am making all sorts of mistakes! I had a go with acrylics a few years ago - mainly caricatures and a few local scenes. Recently, I decided to give oils a go. My very first oil painting was an attempt at a portrait of my husband Jon, which turned out much better than I expected, but my seascapes appear a bit "flat". I suspect that is because I haven't thought enough about the light source....I will keep working on them. I am happier with my muddy woodland pond. I am trying to pluck up the courage to put them in my gallery....be gentle please!
