My Representational Watercolors

Paintings of rural Pennsylvania

Beauty is everywhere! And it’s my goal, as an artist, is to find that beauty and to share these wonderful sights and feelings it with others. There is a hugh difference between pretty and beautiful art. Everyone can see the prettiness of a blooming rose on a a sunny day, but it takes an artist’s eye to see beauty in a family of mushrooms growing in the damp, dark, debris of the forest floor. I strive to make my paintings “happy---not pretty”, by searching for the beauty and warm feeling in the “everyday things” as well as the “roses” “The question is not what you look at, but what you see.” Henry David Thoreau
